Colonoscopy at the GreeneStone Clinic is very gentle and caring experience. When you combine the colonoscopy procedure with a two night resort stay you achieve the most Comfortable Colonoscopy experience available. Our Gastro enterologists and Colo-rectal surgeons will provide excellent facilities and state of the art equipment for evaluation of the upper and lower GI tract.
Both the Cancer society of Canada and the Government of Ontario now strongly recommend a screening colonoscopy to check for colon cancer and to treat colon polyps. By excising these polyps, the potential for cancer is reduced.
You arrive one day ahead of your procedure to prepare and to relax. Once you are on site you will immediately feel more relaxed and comfortable. Your first day is a day of preparation which is monitored and assisted by our nurses. During your first day, while you are preparing for your procedure, you will have access to our team and our programs. You may experience spa treatments, use our fitness facilities, or relax in our resort environment. You may also use this day to get additional medical treatments from our Executive Health doctors. You will rest comfortably in your resort room overnight. On day two you can continue to use the facilities and enjoy the resort while you wait for your procedure. The procedure rooms and recovery rooms are all conveniently located in our spa wing and very close to most of the resort rooms. You will be sedated by an expert anaesthetist and be unconscious during your procedure.
A DVD is available for you to view the procedure and to ask your doctor about any thing you have questions about. After your procedure you will be allowed to conveniently rest until ready to return to your room. You will be able to eat your first meal in the recovery room and follow it up by a sumptuous meal in Lodge dining room. You will then be able to rest in your room overnight before leaving the resort.
We encourage you to bring your spouse or partner to GreeneStone. Our facility is an oasis of quiet and calm and will give you both a chance to unwind. Part of program is education and your family and support group are always welcome to accompany you through the process.
In addition to the basic colonoscopy, you can take advantage of the time at the resort and book a full Executive Medical.
You are encouraged to take more time at the resort for yourself or for you and your partner. You can stay as many additional days as you would like. The Dining experience at GreeneStone is exceptional, and is an integral pert of our nutritional program. Our executive chef is available to discuss all of our menus with you and with a little advance notice, he will teach you some of his secrets.
