DR. VICKY P.K.H. NGUYEN, MD, PhD, FRCPC
PSYCHIATRIST, MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Nguyen graduated in Medicine from the University of Toronto in 2014, following successful defense of her PhD thesis in the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University. Dr. Nguyen is one of the first Psychiatrists to have been trained at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). She served her program as Chief Resident during her fourth year of Residency.
Prior to becoming GreeneStone’s Medical Director and Psychiatrist, Dr. Nguyen received certification in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Seeking Safety. She has an interest in other modalities of psychotherapy including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mentalization-Based Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Schema Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
Dr. Nguyen has authored peer-reviewed publications ranging from proteomics and cellular biology to social inclusion and personality disorders. Her research interests currently focus on equity of access to mental health care for disadvantaged populations, including those afflicted with addiction. Her private telepsychiatry practice involves collaboration with over 60 therapists across the province of Ontario in a network of care called Psychotherapy Matters. Collaborative care affords Dr. Nguyen the ability to provide psychiatric assessments to at least three new patients a day within her virtual clinic.
