  • Alcohol
  • Amphetamines
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Crystal Meth
  • Cocaine
  • Fentanyl
  • Heroine
  • Kratom
  • Marijuana
  • Methamphetamine
  • Opioids
  • Prescription Drugs
WHAT IS AN ALCOHOL OR OTHER SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER?

Alcohol addiction and substance use disorders happen when an individual continues to take a substance, despite experiencing problems and/or consequences as a result. This cause health problems or other issues at home, school, or work.

Alcohol and other substance use disorders are progressive and can be fatal. Getting help as early as possible is strongly recommended. If you think you may have an alcohol or substance use disorder, see your doctor. Physicians often refer their patients to a specialist or recommend an inpatient treatment program to ensure a correct course of treatment is received.

DO YOU OFFER DETOX?

GreeneStone provides medically supervised, safe, comfortable alcohol detox as well as detoxification for benzodiazepines, opiates and other substances. Our medical facility is staffed with an RPN 24-hours a day and our physicians can prescribe medications to assist with the detox process, cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Our medical detox unit also offers withdrawal management as a detox only option for clients who do not wish to attend inpatient treatment.

For more information, please see our Medical Detox page.

Our skilled intake team is always available to assist with choosing the appropriate treatment for yourself or a loved one. If our treatment centre isn’t the right fit, we will gladly provide direction and contact information for the services and support you need. Please call us at (855)821-5010 to speak with one of our professionals directly.

HOW MUCH DOES TREATMENT COST?

Our programs vary in cost, depending whether you choose private or semi-private accommodation and on the level of care that is needed. Please contact our Intake department for information on our programs and fee structures at (855)821-5010 or information@greenestone.net

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER THE COST OF TREATMENT?

More and more insurance companies are covering the cost of substance use disorder treatment or offering it at a low cost. Depending on your coverage and province of residence, some or all of the treatment costs may be covered. Usually, clients are required to pay for their treatment upfront and submit receipts for reimbursement. Our team is here to assist our clients by providing appropriate documentation as requested.

DO I HAVE TO BE SUBSTANCE AND ALCOHOL FREE WHEN I ARRIVE AT GREENESTONE?

Because detoxification and the associated withdrawal symptoms can often be one of the greatest that prevent individuals from receiving treatment, medically supervised detox programs are often necessary to ensure an individual’s safety and comfort during the withdrawal process. We provide medically supervised, safe, comfortable detoxification, benzodiazepines, opiates and other substances. Upon arrival at GreeneStone, all clients are required to stay in our medical facility for a minimum of 24-hours, or until they are fully stabilized. Clients admitted for our core treatment program requiring longer than 24 hours to stabilize will have their program delayed until such time as our medical team feel confident to discharge them into the community. In these instances, an additional per/day stabilization fee will be applied to the client’s program investment. For this reason, we strongly recommend a plan of abstinence for the days prior to arrival at GreeneStone.

HOW LONG ARE YOUR PROGRAMS?

Our programs vary in length; however, GreeneStone strongly recommends that our clients stay with us for a minimum of 45-days to optimize their healing and recovery. Because GreeneStone’s treatment plans are customized for the individual, recommended treatment length can vary from client to client depending on their substance use history and mental health status.

GreeneStone also offers 30, 60 and 90-day inpatient treatment programs and a stand-alone detoxification program. All clients who complete their treatment program have full access to our continuing care post-treatment programs.

HOW IS MY PRIVACY PROTECTED?

Confidentially is crucial to our client’s care. At GreeneStone, respect for the confidentiality and privacy of our clients is a cornerstone of our business. The confidentiality, privacy and security of personal information is assured through GreeneStone’s adherence to the Ten Privacy Principles as defined by the Canadian Standards Association and through compliance with applicable privacy laws including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act. In addition, GreeneStone’s employees are bound by a Confidentiality Agreement as a condition of their employment. See out full privacy policy here.

CAN I MAKE PHONE CALLS AND HAVE VISITORS?

Cell phones and laptops are permitted in designated areas throughout the inpatient treatment program. However, clients are asked to surrender their electronic devices upon arrival and throughout their stabilization process. These are returned when clients are stable and moved into the GreeneStone community. Friends and family are welcome to visit clients after the first two weeks of treatment. To request a visitor, clients must submit a visitor request form which will be reviewed by the GreeneStone team. To ensure the safety and comfort of our residents, all visitors need to be approved by staff prior to arriving on site.

CAN I LEAVE TREATMENT, OR AM I LOCKED IN?

Though we strongly each of our clients to complete their treatment program, clients can leave at any time. If a client wants to leave treatment early, GreeneStone staff will do our best to strongly encourage them to stay. However, if a clients is insistent on leaving, our team will provide as much support as possible by connecting that client to alternate treatment options and services. Our highest priority is our client’s well being and we put their recovery above all else.

After completing two weeks of treatment, clients are allowed to go off-site on Saturdays or Sundays or home for a week visit. These off-site and home visits are optional and permitted at the discretion of the clinical team.
